Biography[ | ]
Like nearly everyone, I've been a gamer all of my life. My first memory of enjoying a video game was with Pacman. I've been around long enough to have seen it all in this industry.
Gaming/YouTube/Twitch is a great way for me to stay active and busy while at the same time staying off my feet due to a disability.
I like a wide variety of games - however I do not claim to be good at them. I enjoy RTS even though I am terrible at the genre. I am a big fan of the fighting game genre but I am only mediocre - in fact, the fighting game genre is probably in my top 2 favorite genres. I've just 'rediscovered' pinball on Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX2/3 - pinball was everywhere when I was younger but I NEVER understood how complex they were, or that they have levels, rules, and goals.
I am mostly known on YouTube for my Planetside 2 and City of Heroes content. My most famous series is "Be Less Derp @ Planetside 2©" which I may expand into other games. I also really enjoy Diablo 3 and many other titles - I think Team Fortress 2 is still one of the best FPS games that has ever been created.
To answer the question, I was always more of an Unreal Tournament guy than a Quake 3/Arena guy.
I've been told I am well known by SOE/Daybreak Game's Planetside 2 development and community management team. I've been privileged enough to be on their official stream shows a couple times, where I've spoken to the players with "Wrel" (who I've also helped with on video creation tips and game discussions.)
I am very grateful for the fans and any contributions and relationships related to them. You all rock. My wife has stopped me and has told me how proud she is when I get fans requesting that I stream or create content, or subscribe, or get donations. I think this is the first and only thing I've done where she has said anything like that.
In gradeschool, I think 5th and 6th grade was when I started doing video recording and learning about editing. This was during video infancy, with VHS-C camcorders, the VHS/Betamax war, and so on. My family didn't have money for such things but I had a very good friend who did. We learned how the equipment worked - we wanted very much in high school to get our hands on the Amiga NewTek Video Toaster. I've been messing with video for a very, very long time. It is so much easier today, it's almost laughable (and hella cheap in comparison.) I remember buying my first editing VCR in college, complete with a jog/shuttle control on it and the remote, with a flying erase head for a whopping $400.
I do have a top 10 list of games, and among the top two I have to list Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Super Metroid. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is also right up there at number 3.
Was a HUGE fan of City of Heroes and I played that for nearly all 8 1/2 years it was running. Mechanically I found it superior to WoW, Champions Online, and DCUO.
